I've watched the first 3 episodes. There isn't much dialog, it's more just long speeches about the down fall of journalism and democracy. Not really my cup of tea, artistically, but it's absurd level of earnestness is fascinating to watch.

Episode two was lousy. It had less over the top overt political agenda and more WOAT interpersonal love story writing. But episode 3 gets back on track in it's over the top political agenda. People are criticizing the show for it, but it's the only interesting thing about the show.

I think making the Anchor republican is intellectually dishonest since he's pushing a left of the democratic party political agenda.

rofl i have no idea what any of this shit is about.

but then you'd all likely be brighter if you didn't watch as much poisonous culture / 'entertainment'.

I'm just saying. You're dumb. gosh. look at this

That speech in the OP was given to the go-hards at the Medill School of Journalism. America's best and brightest aspiring journalists, ya'll.

It saddens me to hear of the show's failure to live up to the potential I imagined as a result of those three minutes.

The best moment is the girl saying "In one sentence or less..."

The second best moment is the girl saying "You know what I mean."

I don't care what you cucumber-sandwich eating aristocrats think. Those two lines are how Aaron Sorkin writes scripts. Gloreus.

Do you reckon USNA Midshipmen get action from these tarts?

I like to think so. I liked USNA cadets. They had an intensity about them that gave me an erection. And I'm not talking about the girls' tailored whites, which gave me another kind of (less erect) erection.

If I was at USNA for 4 years instead of a week, I would jerk off so much more than I traditionally have been known to.

You have to give the guy props for making a show that tries to explain to the morons that their news is just entertainment and that this ratings driven bullshit has pushed us to an almost civil war of political ideologies. I think that is just as an important message to hammer home as is the opening speech. I only watched the first episode, but them making the guy Republican is obviously necessary because otherwise, the people he is mainly targeting would write him off instantly. Instantly because he is not Republican, like the Bill O'Reillys etc. that he is targeting with his agenda, doing it all because things like Fox News exist in the first place.

How hall of fame would it be if Bill O'Reilly gave the same speech on his show about the "news is corrupted by being for profit". Is that speech on Youtube too? It is alarming to me that the vast majority of people just can't seem to grasp that concept.

You have to appreciate Sorkin even trying. Obviously it is a criticism of American journalism as a whole, but Fox News, the motherfuckers that haven fallen into their particular trap take Fox News as gospel, I mean literally. I have witnessed it with my own eyes. The old ones are the worst.

I've always said Vaughn was brighter than all of you.

Steerpike just censors me is all.

I literally just posted another thread that is very nearly spooky. Except Bill O'Reilly is equivalent to a haemorrhoid. He has no interest in what many who do watch FOX News have an interest in.

Like this guy who was immediately fired. And probably lucky to be breathing unassisted.

Sorkin was doing what I have every reason to believe Obama is doing. Illusions are not what they seem.

It's interesting how many clues there are that Obama is the lapdog of Power (just like every President since Nixon).

It's interesting how many clues there are that Obama is a troublesome dog for those who make dogs out of billions of humans. You have to look closely though. Illusions are slippery little suckers.

The problem with dropping down to the level of vassals like I would need to do to get them to read my story about Mai in Thailand, is that it affords them the capacity to just ignore you and focus on the wrapping paper.

John le Carre has this problem every single time he writes for these vassal imbeciles.

It's not obviously necessary. It's intellectually dishonest. The people that Sorkin is targeting are going to write this show off instantly, if they make the character a Republican or not. By making him a republican, it just makes it more absurd and unrealistic than it already is.

For my artistic tastes, I think Network did this theme better, about 30 years earlier. I do think the show is fascinating though, and obviously I agree with the message.

here's a little Network for scoot..

I've seen Network. Honestly, I think it's overrated but maybe it's a dated issue.

It is dated, but considering when it came out, it was god damn prophetic.

This fucking show. I mean, this fucking show. THe fucking Rudy ending to this fucking show this week, I can't believe Sorkin had the audacity to do it. This show is insane and fascinating, and I think it broke my mind with that Rudy shit. This is the flag ship show of New Sincerity, and I'm all in, it's fucking genius.

would you believe me if I told you I had no idea what the fuck you were talking about with Sorkin?

For real, I didn't know this was Sorkin's new show. I fucking love Sorkin.

The best moment is the girl saying "In one sentence or less..."

The second best moment is the girl saying "You know what I mean."

I literally swear on my life I had no idea Sorkin was writing this show until your post made me confused.

You like that fucking read. First two lines in the show. God I love Sorkin.

Is it true rumdick hates him?

That could be ban worthy.

So I should be downloading this show then or are you mocking it? Not really sure. pretty smashed...

Oh, you should definitely down load it. I've never seen anything like it. One of the things it's doing, is it's definitely telling truth, which you'll love.
