DOGGIES skipper Matthew Boyd has registered a brand new stat at Whitten Oval - a goal assist in the game of love.
Leaving the turf after training, he flicked an autographed footy over the fence to die-hard fan Margaret Briggs.
And among the signatures was a message from her boyfriend Devin Collins - "Margaret Will You Marry Me'' in red texta.
"Oh yes, Oh my goodness! How embarrassing!'', she squealed.
"It's true love. It's great!'' Boyd gushed.
And Devin got up from kneeling, beamed and reached for the ring.
When the couple met on line, the magic was unmistakable - it was a Harry Potter chat room.
As their lips locked along the asphalt standing room on the wing, the sparks were still there.
Mr Collins, from Canada, developed a love of AFL when he was introduced to the game by Ms Briggs.
