The wall is a sweet idea, thought up by simpletons who need a good bedtime story to sleep at night. The fact of the matter is, that before it is even completed, sections of it will be destroyed. That it constantly be in a state of "repair", and for less than $500, you can take out an entire section(s) of fence at any one time, and only spend an hour doing it. You give these border jockeys the right means and that fence is done. And no one wants to talk about this. No one wants to talk about how a wall that isn't defended well, is pretty much useless. So Vaughn, other than stopping in the accidental tourist, how is this wall going to effectively stop anything? This will be Trumps "Star Wars".

I don't care to debate this, but border barriers can be extremely effective along with some form of routine surveillance, whether it is cameras, patrols, drones or whatever.

Comparing it to the Star Wars program is a joke - 200 billion - how much is that in 2019 dollars?

8 billion dollars is like a meal at a buffet for a fat Midwesterner in terms of our annual budget. The upkeep costs have been greatly exaggerated. Almost all of the surveillance we are already doing, I'm sure some will try to lump that in with estimated annual costs.
