Moped thugs wanted after schoolboy threatened with angle grinder in Solihull hold-up
Detectives are appealing for dashcam footage after the incident on Warwick Road, in Knowle.
A schoolboy was threatened with an angle grinder by thugs who demanded his bike in a daylight hold-up.
Police apealed for witnesses after the theft in Warwick Road, Knowle, on June 10.
The 14-year-old victim had been on his bike near the junction with Lady Byron Lane, when he was approached by the pair between 6pm and 6.30pm.
The thugs - wielding a angle grinder - demanded his bike, a distinctive orange and turquoise Cube Analogue 27.5.
He handed it over, and the pair rode off on a black moped with the bike slung over the pillion passenger's shoulder.
Police urged anyone with information, or with dashcam footage, to come forward.
"We're appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old boy was threatened with an angle-grinder as his bike was stolen in Warwick Road, Knowle, on Wednesday, June 10," a West Midlands Police appeal reads.
"Detectives are hoping there may be dashcam footage of the two offenders riding off on a moped with the orange and turquoise-coloured bicycle slung over the pillion passenger's shoulder.
"The distinctive Cube Analogue 27.5 bike was taken after the youngster was approached by two men on a matte black moped near the junction with Lady Byron Lane at between 6pm and 6.30pm.
"Anyone with information can contact us, quoting crime number 20SH/133959F/20, via Live Chat between 8am to midnight, or call 101 anytime. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
