About Joe:

Joe Lloyd earned a BA from Northwest Nazarene University and an MFA from Claremont Graduate University.

Joe explains his work by saying, “I see the world as a series of manmade geometric forms imposed on natural topography. Geometry is an idea about perfection but does not really exist in a perfect way. I choose painting because in it I find the impossibility of geometry , the tension between concept and form, and the attempt of an object and an idea to become the same thing.
