Josh Goldstein
http://www.aadstatic.com/uploads/jos..._345354345.jpg
About Josh on his work: Josh Goldstein received a BA in Architecture from Pratt Institute and a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis. He does most of his research on his bike rides around New York City. His art is inspired by a fascination with the the density, decay, and diversity of the cityâ€â€street signs, Chinese take-out menus, old bodegas, graffiti tags, and other urban ephemera. The resulting plywood collages express the murky boundary between the mundane and the sublime that Goldstein encounters on his bike rides. ‘It is my aim to re-contextualize the banalities of city life through my salvaged plywood constructions,’ he says. His work is included in the corporate headquarters of Vitamin Water and Credit Suisse First Boston, Bronx Public Library, WNYC’s Greene Space, and private collections across the United States, South America, and Europe. Target recently commissioned him to design three billboards for Times Square totaling in 6000 square feet. http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/...CoUrR5raY/0/di http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/...CoUrR5raY/1/di http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/Arti...?d=yIl2AUoC8zA http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/Arti...10:F7zBnMyn0Lo http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/Arti...10:V_sGLiPBpWU http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/Arti...?d=qj6IDK7rITs http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/Arti...10:gIN9vFwOqvQ http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Artis...~4/OzUBOFe0LBU More... |
Delilah-the-Miniature-Pinscher
http://cdn-www.dailypuppy.com/dog-im...05-08_w450.jpg
The first thing that must be said about Delilah is that she loves attention! She gets so excited to meet new people, dogs, cats, etc. She also loves to eat everything she can get her little mouth around, and instead of running, she leaps like a baby deer. She is a huge cuddle bug, and generally likes to sleep very far under the covers in the warmest spot. If the bed is already made, she will settle for putting just her head into the pillowcase. She likes to chew on pens, leaves, and stuffed animals, and gobbles her food ferociously! Her favorite playmate is her big brother Vinnie--they are best friends! More... |
Flutes
Location: Amman, Jordan
http://www.dailykitten.com/wp-conten...8-P1120745.jpg Flutes is a 11 months old Turkish Anagora. I adopted him last month when I found him in a fish shop trying to jump into a fish tank. The owner of the shop told me that he was his cat but that he wanted to sell him. I just had to buy him. Flutes elegantly bounces over anything, his exquisite personality and obsession with every thing that moves is rather interesting. He is a fast runner and he can beat you easily at hide and seek, he loves to be petted but not for long. He has a great taste for food, and I just can’t imagine loving a pet more than I love him. Molecular Cloud Barnard 163
It may look to some like a duck, but it lays stars instead of eggs. In the center of the above image lies Barnard 163, a nebula of molecular gas and dust so thick that visible light can't shine through it. With a wing span measured in light years, Barnard 163's insides are surely colder than its exterior, allowing conditions where gas can clump and eventually form stars. Barnard 163 lies about 3,000 light years from Earth toward the constellation of Cepheus the King. The red glow in the background results from IC 1396, a large emission nebula that houses the Elephant's Trunk Nebula. Finding Barnard 163 in an image of its greater emission nebula IC 1396 can be a challenge, but it's possible.
