Transiting exoplanet HAT-P-7b (artist's impression)
This is an artist’s concept of the extrasolar planet HAT-P-7b. It is a “hot Jupiter†class planet orbiting a star that is much hotter than our Sun. For its millionth observation, the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope’s was trained on this planet to look for the presence of water vapor and to study the planet’s atmospheric structure via spectroscopy. Planets with orbits inclined nearly edge-on to Earth can be observed passing in front of and behind their stars. This allows for the planetary atmospheres to be studied by Hubble’s spectrometers. Hubble’s unique capabilities allow astronomers to do follow-up observations of exoplanets to characterize the composition and structure of their atmospheres.

2011 WSOP Main Event Starts Today
http://cdn.wickedchopspoker.com/wp-c...ent-always.jpg Seven years using this pic so why stop now.
In the seven (!?)years we’ve been covering the World Series of Poker, none other has sped along quite like this one. The 2011 WSOP Main Event starts today. Hard to believe. Even harder to believe how quickly it’s moved as this year’s WSOP has been devoid of any major overarching “Year of the…” theme. Most of the big news has been away from the felt, and specifically with Full Tilt Poker dramabombs. Regardless, the 2011 WSOP hasn’t be totally void of story lines. Here’s a quick look back at some of the major headlines. :: Phil Hellmuth misses out on bracelet #12 not once, not twice, but thrice. :: Brian Rast wins not one but two bracelets. :: Ben Lamb makes a name for himself. :: It’s the annual Ladies Event Photo Dump. :: And Jonathan Epstein does not win the Ladies Event. :: Phil Ivey says he’s not playing in the WSOP. :: Jason Mercier wins his 2nd bracelet. He good at pokers. :: So is Andy Frankenberger. :: And finally…browse through all of our Girls on the Rail. Looking forward to a good Main Event.
