Erosion Features near the South Pole of Mars
This HiRISE image shows erosional features formed by seasonal frost near the south pole of Mars. During the winter, high latitudes (near the pole) on Mars build up deposits of carbon dioxide frost that can be several feet thick. In the spring these sublimate and turn back into gas. The gas sublimating at the bottom of the frost can move the underlying dust and even erode channels in it. These channels form a variety of structures; examples like those at this site have been nicknamed "spiders" because many channels converge, giving a many-armed, spidery appearance. From the Inside Out
This image of Atlantis' payload bay, focusing on the docking mechanism, was photographed by the STS-135 crew from inside the crew cabin. The orbiter boom sensor system and a portion of the remote manipulator system's robot arm are visible in the frame, exposed during a busy third day in space for the astronauts. 2011 WSOP Main Event Day 3: The Guy With The Pink Hair Is The Chip Leader
http://cdn.wickedchopspoker.com/wp-c...-Darcourt-.jpg Sacreblue! The chip leader has pink hair.
Basically no so-called “Internet” at the Rio today so we’re a little behind on posts. One quick update before we start photo dumping: going into dinner break, Frenchy McFrenchersteinGuillaume Darcourt held the big stack for most of the day, just south of a milli. He’s still among the top chip counts, but it appearsPatrick Poirier of New York has taken over the lead, with just north of a milli. However, like fluids, these chip counts are pretty fluid and changing rapidly. A little over 1,000 players remain as of 8:45pm PT. Some notables still in the field include but are certainly not limited to Kevin Saul (650k), Blair Hinkle (620k), Ben Lamb (647k), Shannon Shorr (425k), Daniel Negreanu (230k), and Phil Hellmuth (160k).
