Last time I was stunned by the mere existence of something, it wasn't really something, it was someone.
I for whatever reason, perhaps just curiosity, had walked into a Mexican grocery store, and of course they had real cane sugar sodas, Bubu Lubu, and all kinds of beaner cereals, candy etc. that I had never heard of. But what they also had, the most surprising thing, was one of the most beautiful women I have ever encountered in my life. She was a cashier named Margarita - pale skinned, black hair, those weird kind of Spanish hazel eyes, average height and perfect proportions, probably 110lbs.
I wasn't really taken aback by her looks, I was just stunned by the fact that she just so happened to be named Margarita. Think about that for a second: Margarita. She spoke to me in Spanish first before realizing her mistake, and as I read her name tag and realized the significance of the moment, I had to hold back from laughing. My mind was flooded with a million thoughts all at once of partying with Margarita, introducing her to my friends as "Margarita", saying "Margarita" as she is bent over doggy style, and so on. The usual.
When she started speaking English, she instantly went into flirt mode that I've seen a million times. She said a few things attempting to initiate conversation, it was late, the place was dead and minutes from closing time, but for whatever reason, I blew it off assholishly like a fucking idiot. She went from hot to cold in a matter of seconds, rang up the glass bottle of Mexican Coke I got along with a few other inconsequential items. I paid for them, smiled though she was now avoiding eye contact, and walked out, laughing knowing that it would never work.
Ever since leaving that place, I've regretted not playing along, trying to at least get her number and have often thought about the world of senoritas that I've been missing out on. Like, where does one go to even meet these women that are apparently everywhere in Texas? They're never at the bars, clubs, gyms or any place that I frequent. It's not fair.
