i feel like in season 3, joe is a metaphor for nothing that ever actually happened.

like pivoting from anti-virus to broadband transit is just another "ok so that clearly would never happen" moments on a pile thats getting harder to ignore.

also joe appears to be doing some sort of sexual predator / cultivation thing on ryan that would be a lot less horrific if it wasnt such a lazy 'powerful gay dude' trope.
