Lots of reasons but some main ones:
He's like oblivious to stuff anyone his age would be all over - he really lives in the 20th century and it's stunning how stubborn he is in his refusal to consider stuff like everyone uses [torrents / hooking a laptop up to a TV / loving phones instead of 21st century communication / etc].
He listens to heaps of old music. And loves it.
His use of momma jokes, "BOOM" after a terrible joke, and other idioms that are so not what the kids are saying these days.
