Scuter being the econ specialist (he never mentions that he is for whatever reason but it was his major in college) might be a better fit to explain what I'm getting at but it's kinda like this- Our economy isn't based on what we make so much as what we spend. In 2013 consumer spending is something like 71% of our total economy, think about that.
