the entire forum experience is one of brinksmanship. posters generally attempt to behave in the most tilting manner possible without crossing the line into terrible. occasionally people will either tilt their fucking face off or be exposed as terrible, and they are eliminated or relegated to substandard forum ghettos. over a period of many years, out of a talent pool numbering in the tens of thousands, we have self-selected as the only 15 or so poker forum posters in the entire world who aren't terrible and aren't likely to tilt our fucking faces off.
the only problem is that there is no end game. we're still going to engage in horrifying antisocial behavior, and if we can't manage to direct it towards the terrible masses then one or more of us are going to tilt our fucking faces off. its a vicious cycle, and one that ends in tragedy with scooter alone atop the mountain accusing the whole universe of terribleness.
