I have an unlocked smart phone from ebay, and got a at&t go phone sim card by buying a $10 phone at radio shack. Right now I am on the pay as you go plan, which costs 10 cents a minute, and I automatically buy 200 text messages for $5 once a month. I buy $5 worth of data a few times a year, usually if I'm going to be working downtown a lot. It works out to less than $15 a month because I have no friends. I have a $4.71 balance that is going to expire in a week if I don't use it, so I might try to make some calls in the next few days.
