THURSDAY: The Chief of Defence says he finds claims that a female recruit was secretly filmed having sex "abhorrent".
The 18-year-old has admitted to having sex with a male recruit but says she had no idea the footage was being streamed live to other cadets.
Air-Chief Marshall Angus Houston has rejected claims the Defence Force Academy initially dismissed the allegations.
Meanwhile, a Brisbane woman claims a commanding officer told her young niece to "suck it up" after she was raped at the Australian Defence Force academy.
The girl was 19 at the time and the sexual assault was reportedly so bad she was admitted to hospital.
The relative claims her niece's partner, who was also in the defence force, also had his career threatened when the young woman considered pursuing charges over the assault.
WEDNESDAY: Tony Abbott says allegations of a sex scandal at the Defence Force Academy in Canberra are outrageous if they're correct.
Federal Police are investigating claims an 18 year old female recruit was secretly filmed having sex, with that footage streamed live to other cadets via Skype.
Mr Abbott says he's confidence Defence Chiefs will deal will the situation accordingly.
The young woman also faces disciplinary action herself for breaking fraternising rules and speaking to the media.
Defence Minister Stephen Smith says any villification of the young woman is unacceptable.
