I should probably point out something I forgot to mention before- after I tried to upload my copy of mountain lion to scuter via rapid share (I think he feared I was trying to pilfer his IP address or something and refused to download- no worries, just access the rapidshare account yourself, I will give you the log in and password to the rapidshare account, if you're paranoid) (as if I would know what the fuck to do with an ip address anyway- big laugh) I sold my mac and in the process the weirdest-thing-ever happened--while at the mall showing my laptop, the fucking thing malfunctioned. I mean after a solid year of ownership and near flawless performance suddenly my machine beach-balled to no fucking end. It just beachballed for 20 straight minutes.
I looked like an ass and went home, tried to command+R and boot into recovery mode, and I get this message "RECOVERY BOOT FAILED CONTACT APPLECARE"
CONTACT FUCKING APPLECARE?? Why would I need to do such a thing? Ironically this was a week or so after my applecare coverage had expired....
This had NEVER happened, not ever, in the past.
Thankfully I still had a dvd copy of the Lion installer and booted from dvd and reformatted, after this all was well.
Still though, it's pretty fucking spooky that I get this error message, right when I was trying to sell my machine, and just after fooling around with scuter. Not sure the connection (if any) but it's pretty tin foil-hat worthy IMO.
