just a guess but probably want to heat butter and garlic in a glass dish until melted and brush on to the scallops evenly, broil at 350 for like 16-17 minutes (you know when they're done, meat pulls from bone/shell that sort of thing) and make sure to brush on the butter garlic stuff every couple minutes. Also you'd better have a steak to go with those and the steak had better not be chewy because if you serve a man (or woman) a chewy steak and $14 scallops that person will literally hate you for the rest of their life.
