A FATHER in Ohio has been charged for allegedly putting his seven-year-old daughter in a dryer, closing the door and turning it on.
Steve McClairin faces up to 33 years behind bars after his daughter, who is only three feet tall (91.44cm) because she has a condition that stunts her growth, told her school teacher that he had put her in the dryer a number of times, MyFoxNational reported.
"There's no explaining this type of activity, why any individual would place any human being or any animal or anything in a dryer is unexplainable and to a normal thinking person, there's no explanation and obviously this man has issues," Mike O'Malley, first assistant to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason, said.
"If you're capable of putting your child in a clothes dryer, you're probably capable of a lot of horrible things."
Mr McClairin faces two counts of endangering children, felonious assault, kidnapping and domestic violence.
He remains in jail on $US250,000 bond. A pre-trial is scheduled for January 12.
