It was a cold, rainy day. I was driving when I saw a tiny, four week old kitten about 20 feet off of the road. I stopped & picked him up. I knew that were there is one, there is more. I searched the foot high, wet grass field until I found his siblings. They were cold, wet & very sick.

With the location of the litter and no houses around for miles, we figured that they were just another unwanted litter that needed to be disposed of.

After several vet visits and many weeks of around the clock care, they were all well enough to to be spayed/neutered and go to their forever homes. Gina, the sickest of the litter, remains with me until I find that purrrrrfect home for her. She lost 75% of her sight due to the neglect that she suffered.

Welcome to Smoke Screen Week! Just kidding, I wish I could do a smoke screen week, but only have this one picture, so we will make it a week associated with World War II. This picture was taken in 1942 and was part of the Bonneville Project on the Columbia River. They were studying how to put up a good smoke screen.

DOMESTIC UPDATE:

I know that many of you followed with interest the work of the lovely Ms. EAM. After graduating from the top of her nursing class, and passing all board certification tests, she decided to forgo a cushy job in the United States, and devote herself to serving orphans and widows.


She took a job with Mattaw Ministries in July of 2011 and since then has been serving in East Africa as the village nurse for the Mattaw Orphan Village.


This has been a very difficult job, and has required her to work in primitive and difficult circumstances. Everything is in short supply and the needs are great . . . almost overwhelming.


Through all these things she stayed strong, and always got her work done. She dearly loved the children, and the houseparents, and they loved her.


Things started changing earlier this summer. She was notified by Bud and Kimberly Huffman that she would be required to take Apostolic training and indoctrination, which includes bizarre spiritual impartations. When she looked into it, she found it was part of Todd Bentley vineyard movement. She expressed concerns to Bud and Kim and they responded that Todd Bentley was an annointed prophet of God and all his manifestations were of the Holy Spirit and if she did not agree to the indoctrination and impartations she could not be the nurse. She said she could not study under such a man, and they fired her on the spot. My friends, she is devastated, and is in need of encouragement.
