Marianne says: Charlie is a six-week-old kitten who was rescued with his mom, Carmella, and his siblings, Chauncey and Clara. He is in foster care right now with his family until they are all old enough for their shots and spay/neuter. He is a doll and he is enjoying his time with his foster mom (me!). Charlie and his family are rescues of the Helen Sanders CatPAWS rescue group in Seal Beach, California.

Today's picture shows a crowd watching a baseball scoreboard. The picture was taken in 1917. During this era, there were elaborate scoreboards that would show what was going on in the game. They even had little mechanical figures on the bases, or going around the diamond. I was like you watched a mechanical reenactment of the game on the board. There was a special name for these sophisticated mechanical scoreboards, but I am not able to remember the name. Do any of you remember?

Vanessa Selbst, a woman who likes women, captured her second consecutive NAPT Mohegan Sun title on Wednesday.

Selbst outlasted a field of 387 players to bank $450,000. Despite being at a considerable chip disadvantage going into heads-up play against Dan Shak, she grinded out yet another victory.

Shak earned $254,000 for second, or as Beth likes to call it, “half of that.”
