</p>Thomas Wrede was born in Iserlohn-Letmathe. He studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Münster from 1985–1991 where he was also teaching years later. In 1991 he was the student of Dieter Appelt in Salzburg and Berlin.

Thomas Wrede’s last series “Real landscapes” are manipulations of landscapes. By adding artificial details into real nature he creates a staged scene that looks authentic at first. For the observer it becomes difficult to see what is actually real and what is unreal. The resemblance to model construction kits is striking. In effect he creates dreamlike scenes of nature or perhaps even nightmares.

Helping us say goodbye to the week and hello to the weekend we have Sassy. She is almost 2 and a half years old and resides in Snellville, Georgia.




This little girl was a year and 2 months old when we found each other at my local GSPCA. Her name was Lola (she didn’t look like a Lola to me) and she was surrendered when she got pregnant. She came into my house owning it! I am disabled, on crutches. Within the first couple of days, she was blocking my way down my hallway by flopping in front of me for a back and belly rub with my crutch. She trained me well!!



On our third day together her name just came out … Sassy, because she is such a sassy little girl. She will be 2½ in May. She’s an indoor only cat but doesn’t seem to mind it. She is very loving, funny, and my constant companion.

Sebastien explains the work by saying, “Painting is not the ultimate aim, it is a quiet moment in which you meet each other. Each exhibition is a journey where we work to change the nature of this encounter. These moments are slipping in color, under and on the epidermis, harmonizing everything… and for a moment make the ephemeral permanent and restore impermanence to what is no more. Possibility upsets endlessly what should be. To give the opportunity to access different points of view through the encounter, this process allows to put into perspective the place of each person, and understand the need for plurality of views.”
