Well, yes and no, Mike. No, I don't literally plant the corn and soybeans. But I also don't cash rent. I split the production costs and split the profits ( or losses) with my renters, which means I take a significant risk each year. Most years, the risk is worth it. This year, things look a little grim, with some hail early in the season, and drought at this point. We're in better shape than nebraska and western iowa, but not that great of shape. Fortunately, I have crop insurance. And since I've been paying it for 15 years or so, and haven't made a single claim once, the mother fuckers better pay out.
