You know how I am, I obsess a tad bit when it comes to my very favorite sextastic celebrities, not the least among whom is Victoria's Secret hottie model and minted MILF, Alessandra Ambrosio, who I fear needs me to deliver her a meat sandwich in the immediate term, or some other form of calories pronto, if my meat sandwich be not to her liking. These Alessandra Ambrosio bikini pictures from Hawaii make me a bit nervous that this super duper hottie is becoming a bit too skinny, and while her reduced weight will ultimately make her less heavy to tote when I carry her off in a burlap sack to be my future Mrs. Egotastic!, I still prefer my ladies with some soft and cuddly parts too, not to mention fully inflated funbags. NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity used its panoramic camera (Pancam) to capture this view of a portion of Endeavour crater's rim after a drive during the rover's 2,676th Martian day, or sol, of working on Mars (Aug. 4, 2011). The drive covered 396 feet (120.7 meters) and put the rover with about that much distance to go before reaching the chosen arrival site at the rim, called "Spirit Point." Endeavour crater has been the rover team's destination for Opportunity since the rover finished exploring Victoria crater in August 2008. Endeavour, with a diameter of about 14 miles (22 kilometers), offers access to older geological deposits than any Opportunity has seen before. This view looks toward a portion of the rim south of Spirit Point, including terrain that Opportunity may explore in the future.

Using data from the VISTA infrared survey telescope at ESO’s Paranal Observatory, an international team of astronomers has discovered 96 new open clusters hidden by the dust in the Milky Way. Thirty of these clusters are shown in this mosaic. These tiny and faint objects were invisible to previous surveys, but they could not escape the sensitive infrared detectors of the world’s largest survey telescope, which can peer through the dust. This is the first time so many faint and small clusters have been found at once. The images are made using infrared light in the following bands: J (shown in blue), H (shown in green), and Ks (shown in red).

Eugene Katchalov found himself in a familiar position after Day 1 of the first Epic Poker League Main Event: atop the leaderboard.


Three guys who crushed this year’s World Series of Poker apparently carried their run good with them to the first ever Epic Poker League Main Event.

Leading the way after Day 1 is Eugene Katchalov with 356,300. He’s followed by 2011 WSOP Player of the Year (so far) Ben Lamb (287,200) and two-time 2011 WSOP bracelet winner Brian Rast (260,500).

The event ended up booking 137 total players, with 129 (slightly more than half) of the eligible pros on the roster participating (eight of the seats in the event were non-card-carrying winners from the weekend satellite). A total of 63 survived to Day 2.

The breakdown of entrants went about as expected. The younger Internet pros who haven’t had the type of exposure the old-school guys have had almost all played. The old-school pros that the mainstream poker audience mostly recognizes didn’t play either due to a number of different reasons (prior commitments, wait-and-see approach, Annie Duke led league, etc.).

First will bank $982,660 with 18 spots getting paid.
