It should be noted that it would be a major political gaffe for a Democrat to operate or be photographed with a chainsaw. Jimmy Carter has demonstrated that if wood absolutely must be cut in order to provide homes for brown people, then it is acceptable to cut it in the most Amish way possible, but even he didn't dare come out as a wood-cutter of any kind until after he was out of office.
A young Bernie Sanders went beyond Amish and straight to yurt-dweller status with his bicycle saw. This kind of hippie nonsense may have helped his career in Vermont politics, but it doesn't play on the national stage, and was likely the single largest factor that led to his defeat in this year's presidential primary.
