Yesterday police announced the arrest of Chakarin Rungjang, a 34-year-old man who had allegedly shot dead Chamchan Phoonsombat, a five-month pregnant woman, in February 2008. During the announcement, Chakarin asked for forgiveness from Chamchan’s famil, stating that his brutal action was caused by a misunderstanding.
According to police, on the day of the murder Chakarin became infuriated when his girlfriend told him that someone had spit on her head from the second floor of a convenience store in the Nong Khaem district.
