Fair enough, behemoth was over simplifying. The Sunni militias are not going to control anything, hillbillies are a pretty fair description.

The long term solution to Saudi power is to not use oil as a primary fuel source. In would be in our national security interest to take a couple of hundred billion away from the pentagon and put it towards developing alternative fuels, but it's too hot button politically. Troops in the region is a stop gap.

Enthusiastic doesnt come close to how hard I agree with this.

Id say that the other side of that coin however would be a wholesale culling of the Saudi power structure, because if this is what they are willing to roll with while they are pulling the strings in pretty much the whole of the Middle East, you can rest assured that if they feel the parties over, the mullahs are going to start calling out for wholesale WMD strikes on all western interests.
