I mean, there are so many truly delicious salads in the world. You're just never going to find one at Wendy's. (Or any fast food joint.) The thing is, anticipation is like 9/10 of what you experience. To prove this, try this sometime: Grab a cup of root beer, Coke, or other soda and go to take a sip. Have a friend secretly put water in the cup instead (obv the friend doesn't tell you when he's going to pull this trick). As the liquid hits your tongue, you are going to initially experience the taste of the water on your tongue as absolutely disgusting. This is because of what your brain anticipated the taste experience was going to be versus what it was. So basically, you'll never experience the crunchy delicious joy of a great salad until you find a way to open your mind to the new flavors. Your brain is your own worst enemy in this case.
