</p> Brittany Kathryn Knapp is a New York, NY based artist who mixes wood burning and painting into her works.

Brittany describes her work by saying, “In an attempt to bring the subjects to life in my wood-burnings, I decided to cut out and project the figure into space. The shadows produced by the projections are of interest to me. We have a shadow in the place and circumstance we are in currently, and we casted shadows in the places and circumstances we were in before. Contemplating the reality of myself as evident in my shadow gave new meaning to the technique I utilize. The shadow is a convincing statement that I was once there, these things did happen to me, and I can be proud of myself for making it through such difficult times.”

I don’t read German — shocking, I know — but I’ve picked up enough foreign languages from this site over the years to get by when it comes to foreign magazines. And most of the time, you can put together the rest just by looking at the pictures. Like here, for instance: “Miranda Kerr” and “bikini” clearly means “ridiculously hot.” That’s as far as I’ve gotten, but I’ll let you know as soon as I can translate the rest.

When I saw these pictures of Selena Gomez walking around Disneyland with her two girlfriends and some little boys from a teen boy band, I start wondering if she’s really 20 years old and if looking at these pictures of her will get me in trouble. I guess having your youth stunted by being a child actress can really damage a young person’s development. The good news, I was only a few grades shy of receiving my degree in psychology, so if Selena would like to have a sit down and discuss her issues, I’d be more than willing to listen, free of charge.
