</p>Marta Zamarska is an emerging Polish artist. In 2008, she graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Marta is also a qualified English teacher. She graduated from the Teachers Training College in Cieszyn, as well as the American Studies Center, Warsaw University, where she specialized in American culture and literature.
Marta explains this work by saying, “Nature and the diversity of organic forms have inspired me to embark on my new project. The abstract works reflect the intensity and a wide range of colors of minerals, stones and rocks. On the soft surface of canvas I try to capture smoothness, roughness, transparency, the structure and texture of minerals and gemstones. Due to all-over composition the painting becomes the “mineral” itself, that is to say “oil mineral.” The juxtaposition of contrasting colors, as well as monochromatic structures create a shimmering mineral kaleidoscope. Action painting and color field painting of Abstract Expressionism (a movement in American painting, developed in 1940s) are also of great significance when it comes to my inspiration.”

Hi, I’m Felix. I’ve already crossed over the Rainbow Bridge but I still wanted to tell everyone about myself (through my mom of course). I was found at my mother’s work when she worked at a power plant. I was about 4 weeks old … and blind. I had gotten fly ash in my eyes and it caused them to ulcer over. She took me to the vet to be checked out and he said I was in great shape other than not being able to see. That was all she needed to hear and we went home. Mom says that I was the only cat she ever had that would come when called by their name. I loved to snuggle. I could find my way around the house just fine and I played just like every other kitty in the house. Oh … there was this one time. My mom had emptied the trash and put the can in a different place. I was on the bed and went to jump down. I jumped right into the trash can. I didn’t think it was too funny but the rest of the house laughed themselves to tears. Anyway … I just want everyone to know that just because kitties have challenges … they are still wonderful, loving, and very grateful cats. Just ask my mom … she will tell you.
