The subjects of my work are often women’s bodies and faces initially perfect and unspoiled. I work on a process of deterioration and subsequent explosion by manually intervening on the image through a liquid mix of textures and materials that I select. The combination of these techniques allows me to create visual effects that act directly on the physicality of human subjects.”

This is Graycie Lynn – younger sister to Griffin and Charlotte Ruth. She literally showed up at my sliding glass door one day and the rest is history. She was shaking and scared, but immediately wanted into my house. I am not sure, but I believe that a neighbor lost her home and put Gray out to fend for herself. I found cat supplies on the woman’s back porch when I was hunting for Gray one day. Gray was very small when she showed up at my house, but when I was able to flip her over I could see that she had been pregnant before. She was less than three pounds when I got her to the vet, so I do not believe that any kittens survived. I will be honest and say that I was not looking for a third cat, but she has been the easiest health-wise to care for and that is a blessing.

I was calling her Gray Cat because I didn’t want to get attached to her while I was getting her vetted. Having been on her own, she hissed at my other two and to my surprised they hissed back. I had them for years and had never heard either hiss. Gray is a scrapper and she wants to be queen at times. My other two still seem bewildered when this happens after five years of living with her. She is the most social of my cats and all my friends love her. Gray became a true lap cat and people lover in the past two years. She definitely has her own personality and is afraid of lots of things, but the first to come make sure you are okay if she thinks you are upset or hurt. Graycie and her siblings are indoors all the time, but have a bedroom that is all-cat all the time with cat trees and toys to keep them all busy. This is a picture the week she showed up at my house. Her fur is so much softer now and she has filled out too.
