im gonna wing it and say maybe a barley wine. which are bottled and sold as beer but usually 10% abv + so it really is a wine.
give me a little idea on what type of wine you would match with a salmon dish and maybe i can figure something out.
I looked it up on the Intranets and they recommended Belgian witbier or French biere-de-garde with salmon. Thoughts?

WELL if u want paler go with witbier, thhe french sounds like it is more in the amber range, honestly i am a beer noob, i only started really getting into beers in the last year ish, and i havent hhad a nice variety of either style of beer u mentioned. maybe someone else here has, but i cant really make a recommendation.

newcastle is a favorite of mine, however you can do a lot better. newcastle is shipped in clear bottle from uk. if you want a brown ale, go with a domestic microbrew. practically every brewer makes at least 1 brown ale. theres one made here (no chance u can get it out there) and the difference is amazing.
