if i show an elephant nothing but the works of pablo picasso's blue period in an otherwise perfectly white room for some extended period, the elephant might very well gravitate to the color blue in his work, but it does not mean hes been influenced by the artists works, only that he is falling back on a vocabulary hes become immersed in.

While I think you see yourself as a seriously creative guy and all, your analogy doesn't disagree at all with what I said. Logic - 1, Cool elephant story +1 means IT'S A WASH. The elephants were still influenced by pablo picasso's work, even if they didn't appreciate them. You've just done a semantic switcheroo that sounds palatable but is false.
