the main reason I think that story is told by someone who has never been to Thailand is the part quoted below, also scooter doesn't really have a speech impediment, other than talking like an Australian.

are you saying that it's actually possible to walk more than five feet in thailand without being yelled at by psycho asians selling snakes and ducks, or that a veteran traveler would be nonplussed by said psycho asians?
and from what i've seen, thailand is pretty much wall to wall whoring and stick fighting and snake selling, and then there are a few white dudes who dress like don johnson and they either work for the cia or are international drug smugglers or both
