I believe Kavanaugh perjured himself repeatedly today. For example, I think that a full investigation could easily contradict his testimony about the meanings of the terms "Devil's Triangle," "FFFFFFFourth of July," "boof," and "Renate alumnius." I think that there are certainly many classmates and contemporaries who would testify that his statements about the extent of his drunkenness were inaccurate. In fact, there are already credible statements to that effect, and I believe that other classmates who watched today's hearing will come forward with accounts of their own.
It was possible for Kavanaugh to be honest today about his boorish behavior in high school and college and still refute the allegations of sexual assault. But, because he instead attempted to paint himself as a paragon of chastity and virtue, all of his credibility can be undermined by the relatively innocent recollections of any of hundreds of people he interacted with over those years, who saw him drunk, who wrote similar things in their yearbooks and know what they really meant, or who had even consensual sexual encounters with him. He's set himself up to where he doesn't just have to dodge allegations of rape and sexual assault, he has given sworn testimony that he didn't do some very basic things that we have every reason to believe he did do. I don't know whether Judge Kavanaugh assaulted Dr. Ford, but you are never ever going to convince me that he's not a fucking liar.
ok but it was also flat-out embarrassing for a supreme court justice nominee and current judge to be asked questions about his drinking in high school

Every time Kavanaugh refused to answer that question with either a yes or a no, I became ill.
he should have been honest and said "senator, the only reason you're asking for an fbi investigation is because you hope it prolongs this process beyond the midterms when you hope you gain control of the senate."
why the fuck would he even humor them? it's legitimizing this insanity

This is why I hate politics and just don't care about either side. It's disgusting.
something seems off about this one-week delay for the fbi to investigate kavanaugh.
i'm not sure why the democrats would agree to this. presumably, the fbi will not come up with any new information and nothing will have changed. the republicans will then go forward with the vote confirming kavanaugh, but will now be able to look good politically, saying they permitted the fbi to investigate.
why would the democrats permit that to happen? if there was no one-week delay, they could hammer republicans with it during the mid-terms
am i being too cynical here? did they get to mark judge and do they know he intends on saying he remembers the ford incident?
