The NASA logo on Bldg. 703 at the Dryden Aircraft Operations Facility in Palmdale, Calif., is reflected in the 2.5-meter primary mirror of the SOFIA observatory's telescope. SOFIA--the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy-- is an airborne observatory, built to complement the Hubble, Spitzer and Herschel space telescopes, as well as major Earth-based telescopes. SOFIA features a German-built 100-inch (2.5 meter) diameter far-infrared telescope weighing 20 tons mounted in the rear fuselage of a modified Boeing 747SP aircraft. Last year the two time Tony Award winner starred in 'Fences' alongside Denzel Washington and at this year's Broadway celebration she was a presenter. Her lovely dress gathered at the midsection and showed off her delightful figure. Davis pulled her look together with black satin pumps, a matching clutch, dangle earrings and a cropped bob.

Marmalade joined my family at six weeks but he lost his feline Mom at about two and a half weeks. He was raised by a co-worker who gave him human infant formula that thank goodness he didn’t react badly to. He won over his big sister Purrcilla after only one week and has filled a hole that I didn’t even know was there. I almost can’t imagine this place without his wonderful energy.
