My sinus infection appears to have cleared up but in its wake, Im left with fairly spectacular allergies, at least in my room. From the second I close my door, my nose runs like a faucet and I cant stop sneezing.

Its not really an issue once I hit the outdoors/markets, however my throat becomes painfully dry outside, to the point where I have to excuse myself from conversations and gulp down water.

Its all quite unpleasant really.

However it does seem to be improving as time passes, and its only been 4 days really.

Next week I will begin getting my suits fitted, until then Im going to simply eat and sleep a lot and see if perhaps a better apartment can be had, providing I intend to stay here longer than the end of the month.

Im glad Im here mind you, make no mistake, but the heat, the traffic, the allergies, the spotty net access, the fact that its not really *that* cheap, and on top of it all I have to work from midnight to 9am BKK time 5 nights a week, which makes it almost impossible to re-orient myself post-jetlag. In short, Im a bit of a mess I suppose.

Still and all its too soon to post up and cry foul. I will feel better when I get some appropriate clothing, can sleep more than 5 hours a stretch, and maybe hire some jaded whore to get naked and watch Ichi The Killer with me a few times in a row.

Standard culture shock. If you're not hating yourself initially, that means you will LOVE it eventually. I hated myself initially - then I found FoodByPhone.com and my life became...tolerable.

The prices are rising so fast. In the year I was there, I saw inner city CPI rise easily 20% - across the board. Unless that's what CPI means. Which I think it does. My little apartment on Soi 8 last yr was 60,000b/m - that's 2k usd, it was nice but nothing baller - and FoodbyPhone is expensive obv, but so is all restaurants [at least ones where food poisoning is not likely]. Shit is getting expensive in Bangkok - lots of money here, some of the shopping centres are too pristine / upper-class for me. Prices there are > US / Aust / UK

But anyway, my buddy who is in the know about stuff says True have launched 16mbps net - 2200b/m which is god. I was paying ToT 8000b/m for 2mbps faggotry.

But in classic Thai WTF fashion, they've launched it only in rural cities and not in the...um...the fucking CBD / Sukhumvit / capital.
