Occasionally, the drunk money hiding thing actually works out well and makes for a nice surprise. Awhile ago Edwina was doing spring cleaning and going through her dvds to give some to the local library. We found a grand or so Id won from a local poker game in the Cinderella DVD case and a couple of $25 chips from that I musta forgotten to cash in.
Another time I found 2k I won at the casino at the bottom of a box of thin mints. The cookies were in the freezer and at the time, it had been at least 7months since I'd been to the casino. Lucky they didn't get thrown out during one of edwinas cleaning binges)
Downside is there's several thousand I haven't found (and we literally have roomful of books that I should go through at some point looking for the money I thought I was being smart with by hiding). And Lord only knows how much people who've come to parties, maids, and house sitters have found and kept (or how much I've accidentally thrown away)
