Wrong. Clearly you do not respect me and for the time being, you get a pass because you do not know me, but know this- I walked into not one but over a dozen churches in my lifetime looking for the truth. When I was let down I knew it, when I was lied to again I knew it, and multiple times it became very clear very fast I was literally being showered in bullshit. And so i left- over and over and over again.

Perhaps most prudent to move forward for now, you say "This is what they're saying. You just don't realise it." and you're dead wrong. At my church anyway, I can't speak for other congregations, we are celebratory over the gift of life in the first place, how can we show gratitude toward our (that is mine AND YOURS) Heavenly Father by throwing away the greatest gift we could ever have bestowed upon us- the gift of Life with Free Will. It's still hard to comprehend how truly amazing life really is and how BLESSED each one of us is for receiving it.
Do I wish for death? For what? Heaven? Not a chance. I wish I could talk to God, to walk with Him as Adam did so long ago, and in truth- that is what I want most. Don't you dare presume assume or make light comments to the contrary- I never sought Him because I wanted to find out how to get on the guest list for club Heaven, I was never riddled with guilt or shame or suffering some incurable disease. I heard the calling my entire life but my cynical mind is VERY fast at picking out things that don't make sense, and when things don't make sense, I hate whatever it is I am hearing or looking at as knowing I am being lied to then makes me wonder if I am being respected or not, clearly not, and I am not ok with that.
We are alive such that we may live our lives however we want to, His gift to us, but His wish at the same time is that we will voluntarily give some of that gift back by praising His existence and rejoicing in His glory. Would you argue that the Lord deserves nothing but open praise and adoration??? He freaking created us and everything around us !!! Get real.
You are right by the way, people SHOULD ask themselves daily "Am I HAPPY?" and you know what, Gods Grace abounds and He wants such that NONE shall suffer. If people are unhappy without God what do they have to lose by living with Him? Conversely if a Christian isn't happy walking the walk that person should try being an immoral sinner correct? It's only logical.

In God’s identifying with Isaac, He is saying that He is the God that is worthy of life-endangering faith and the God of revival of the ancient ways. On to Jacob.
As the God of Jacob, He declares Himself the God who will get down and dirty with man and the God who alters men’s lives, giving them a new name. Jacob was a stubborn bloke. He lusted for the blessings. He would get blessed shrewdly or by force, but one way or another, he was going to be blessed. God will wrestle with us, not because we can beat Him, but because He loves to be with His people. When Jesus called His disciples, Mark wrote that He called them “so that they could be with Him.†Fellowship, even the uncomfortable kind, is what is on His heart. But He doesn’t ever come in contact with us and not change us. It isn’t because He is trying to change us necessarily, but in His Presence we cannot help but be changed. When we come out of an encounter or a season in His Presence, we come out the other end with a new identity, rather a new understanding of our eternal identity in Him. We, then, become who we are.

So much pain, what have people put you through friend? It's literally all I can feel reading your posts, over and over again, pain and seething hate and rage. You did not deserve this, but come to grips with reality and understand that you are BETTER than what you have become. Forgiveness is the HARDEST part of walking with God but you MUST do it, you are required to, your life literally hangs in the balance.
I'm going to share a story here, and it's private as fuck. Not more than a couple dozen people will ever spend the time reading all this so I feel safe enough in sharing. You need to read it, it's the last thing I am going to write about any topic remotely close to religion until you actually start one with genuinely good or curious intentions. I'm not going to spend a minute longer attempting to bring you around and hopefully show you that you can actually be HAPPY in this lifetime, it's pretty clear you have walls and walls up against that sort of thing, more than I can break down.
I will however pray for you, every single day, that God softens your heart and allows you to be happy again. You have to forgive those who wronged you Scuter, your soul is tainted and black because the memories of all the injustices haunt you to this day, but they don't have to. You can hurt them back, make things right FOR YOU! All you have to do is the hardest thing possible- forgive them one by one, in your heart. What do I know of forgiveness? Who the fuck am I to speak of how hard it is to forgive and what possible frame of reference can I have?

Even though my hate and bitterness is JUSTIFIED, it is ALWAYS JUSTIFIED!!! Can't you see that? But in the end, you MUST turn the other cheek, you MUST forgive, there is NO CHOICE but death if you don't. My life turned around in many ways once I truly heard the word, and for that, I cannot begin to repay my friend that showed me the way. Had I been the same person I have always been when I had to forgive, I might have said it, but my heart would have still been cold. So cold and immovable.
My substance issues are what they are, I get sick of people pointing it out to me, as if they invalidate my faith. Keep in mind, at 8 years old my ADD diagnosis was breaking new ground, ADD was a new childhood ailment and no one knew what the fuck to do about it. The doctors just understood it's paradoxical effect on certain drugs like caffeine for example, and thus I was prescribed AMPHETAMINES to combat it. Hey guess what, I was doing speed at 8 years old, where the fuck do you think the pennies in my sandwich story comes from? My mom put money in my food to see if I was even eating it, and after weeks of dollar bills she put a ten spot in a sandwich that, to this day, I remember throwing away into a dark green plastic trash can. It looked disgusting, as had all food the last 3-4 years. So who the fuck is still surprised I still enjoy doing speed at 31? Habituation is a bitch, but the doctors at the time had no clue what else to do, so I forgive them for my problems today.
You have to forgive and forget Scuter, you HAVE TO, there is no SANE alternative. As I said, my religious postings here are done, I have said what I needed and was supposed to say, from here you have a path you may choose to walk, if you are strong enough. If you choose not to, I will never again be in your hair about it, but know this- I (me) will personally have you in my prayers every single day, hoping against hope that you come around and ease the burden from your heart. You're a good man, brilliant and insanely talented, and I truly wish the very best for you.
