I've seen about 10 minutes of the show and it literally looked like they left their Home Depot vests at the door and put on their leather jackets before they walked into their clubhouse. AKA some doods garage. If you listen close you can hear his mom telling him to be in bed by 11 and there's rice krispy treats and kool aid in the kitchen.

im 100% positive tho that they spend at least half their time editing out gaffers and cameramen saying in disbelief, "omg hes doing it.. HES DOING IT!!!".

As the second season of The Devils Ride is thundering ahead at full throttle, speculation continues about the Laffing Devils “Prez” Sandman and allegations of legal and domestic issues. As it turns out, the Laffing Devils’ Sandman is in serious trouble. In more ways than one.

It’s no secret that Robert Johnston, aka “Sandman,” was arrested and jailed on December 27, 2012 on suspicion of attempted murder, burglary, making criminal threats, reckless driving, and several vehicular infractions. He appeared in the San Diego Superior Court (East County) for arraignment on January 11, 2013 and was released on bond. The San Diego District Attorney filed a formal criminal complaint against Mr. Johnston on December 31, 2012, and he is due in Court for a Preliminary Exam on March 13, just days after the third episode of The Devils Ride season two airs on the Discovery Channel.

Mr. Johnston’s arrest came after an alleged incident at the home of his ex-wife on December 22, 2012 ended with a then-unknown male hospitalized with life-threatening stab wounds to the back. A temporary restraining order was filed against Mr. Johnston on January 14, 2013. A Facebook page maintained by “Melis Sandmanswife” makes no public mention of the incident nor of being in “ex-wife” status, but does continue to promote The Devils Ride. Reliable and protected sources advised that “Sandman,” fueled by methamphetamine, appeared at the home of his estranged wife and found her in the company of an unknown male; leading an already-enraged Mr. Johnston to stab the naked and defenseless man several times. Mr. Johnston has, according to sources (but not otherwise confirmed), secured a very high-priced, successful defense attorney and maintains that he entered the home illegally because he had “forgotten” his key, found his wife in a compromised position with an unknown male, assumed there was foul play, and reacted in defense and protection.

Just like the issues haunting former The Devils Ride start Tommy Quinn (aka “Gipsy”), The Discovery Channel remained quiet about the well-publicized troubles with their popular bad-boy “Sandman.” Producers may have seen trouble ahead for Robert Johnston (and likely planned accordingly during outlining for the quite-possible Season Three), as the effects of “Sandman’s” ongoing and escalating drug use are quite obvious and have even been discussed by fans throughout social media.

Laffing Devils Sandman in Serious Trouble With Drugs?

Fans of The Devils Ride and the Laffing Devils’ “Sandman” have noted and discussed the “Prez’s” increasing gauntness (especially in comparison with his apparent fitness in the first season of the show), skin pallor, and other characteristic signs of methamphetamine use after only two episodes during the show’s second season. Sources have advised that Robert Johnston has been locked in a downward spiral for several months, and any conviction and confinement stemming from the current criminal charges may just save his life.

Regardless, Sandman continues to be a popular character on The Devils Ride, probably because his coarse and generally vulgar demeanor feeds the fear, loathing, and contradicting fascination that many people feel toward the “biker culture.” Fans of the show, and especially of “Sandman,” should gird their loins to have yet another “Prez” go MIA – it is not likely that “Sandman” will be available for season three of The Devils Ride.
