sociopaths are a bit harder to define.. they are kind of like automatonic reptiles wandering around wearing human masks, programmed by themselves to be as polite and unobtrusive as possible.
It's so sick how "politeness" gives the socially dysfunctional or those with malicious intent a legup whilst giving the functional or those with an intent to participate / contribute / trade a handicap.

The motivation question is pretty amazing, I think thats the God particle of psychiatry. I absolutely cant imagine. Does it trend back to basic hunting instincts from the cave days? Is it something as simple as coveting the emotional spectrums on display around them? Who fuckin knows..
I do know this much tho; 90% of freshman psych students drop out of psych classes because sooner or later, they start to self-identify with every aberration they read about. Maybe sociopathic anti-social behavior is the inversion of that?
Skynig - I'm most certainly not an expert in this area but the way I understand it is sociopaths and psychopaths both want to maximize their own existence, have the ability to worm their way into peoples lives, and do not care who gets hurt along the way. In fact, both expect to and are ready to use and hurt others to get what they want. But the psychopaths are much better at planning and attention to detail than sociopaths. As a result, the pyschopaths tend to be more successful, do more damage, and get away with it more often and for longer periods of time than the sociopaths.

Maybe it's just that they are constantly forced to be so damn respectful and polite coupled by being trapped in a rigid professional system that expels non-coformists. So they never get an outlet for their frustration and the emasculation of their uniqueness. Next thing you know you've got the degradation of women via anime rape and tentacle porn. But there has to be more to it than that right. So. Throw in the tiny penises and the refusal of their powers that be to acknowledge they crossed every line imaginable when it comes to sexual war crimes. So, maybe, basically you have sexually physically inferior men, who are forced to be bitches in the workplace, but when wartime comes they are allowed to rape, murder, and degrade on unimaginable levels and still end up in some holy shrine honoring the wartime dead. Dunno if that makes sense. Do know the rape of nanking was not that long ago.
Well tapper. Like I said...I'm no expert. Did not see tine's post before I babbled. And I respectfully defer to the gentleman who worked at a strip club for years. There are few places on earth that will give someone the opportunity to study all types and levels of mental deviations than the typical gentleman's club. And I say that with respect, sincerity, and a thimble's worth of personal experience.
the party line on why japan is so Weird is its lack of natural resources and privacy (both because its a fucking island). people have had to basically seek entertainment in the depths of their own psyches for generations.
