1. type of explosive used? Bigger than m-60 obv but what is it?

2. His hand. Damage level estimate?

the explosive appears round and the fuse is completely inappropriate which leads me to believe it's homemade

It might be a fake, but... If his hand was still actually clasped around the device he likely lost his hand or most of his fingers. It is hard to tell where it is when he throws it. Poor idiot.

I have this shit called tannerite. Look it up. I sometimes shoot it in my backyard. I can't imagine having it within inches of me when 1/2 a lb goes off. You guys tell me something cool to explode with it and I will post video.

Usually the wicks are long, so its likely the guy made it himself

Could just as well be a partial stick of dynamite with some homemade fuses.

When I threw my fireworks i preferred blackcat brand because the fuses are crimped and started off slow. The cheaper thunder ones just went straight off giving you an uncomfortably short time to get it out of your hand. I had many a firework blow up in my hand. It is a very strange feeling. It doesn't hurt as much as you feeling weirded out your hand is totally fucking numb like local anesthetic.
