I find this whole story to be....like you have been saying, the world is fucked and things like this happening SHOULDN'T- so how do we stop it? (without blaming me for humanity's plight please)
You should cut out all your praying and hoping and emotional qualifiers.
You will be blamed if you are to blame, whether or not you request it. You will not be blamed when you are not to blame, whether or not you request it. Stop trying to tailor responses.
A far saner version of the above would be:
"This world is fucked, what are we going to do about it?"
And I would tell you:
