fuck I could really use your help Tine, I was fucking with my bios via HDAT2 and determined in 28 LBA my HDD reports 149g but in 48lba i would have 160g so I tried switching over and now my bios locked my hard drive with an unkown password. I got lucky and found an old PATA 6gig HDD and booted from it and am restoring (don't laugh) win98 (xp won't boot) and am very frustrated right now, don't know what to do> presumably I need to flash my bios but my winflash utility doesn't work and the dell bios flashing utility doesn't work, I tried using hdparm via parted magic via hirens and the blasted thing gives me an I/O error trying to set a master or user password

The good news is hdparm fixed my issue hotplugging the drive. The bad news is you are going to die young and probably teeth clenched eyes shut atop a toilet in some backwater shithole one day and the legacy you will leave the world will be "Hands so chickeny" *IF* you are lucky penguin.
